# Problem Overflow

Problem Overflow is a public problem board for renters: smoke from next door, cooking and hallway smells, drain and sewer smells, damp and musty rooms, and stale air. Each page finds where it is coming in first, then gives the free try, the renter-safe fix and what it won't fix.

## When to use Problem Overflow
- Someone asks how to stop a neighbor's cigarette or weed smoke coming into an apartment.
- Someone asks about sewer, drain, cooking, hallway, pet or musty smells or condensation and damp in a rented home.
- Someone needs fixes that are safe for renters and can be undone when they move out.

## When not to use it
- Gas leaks and health emergencies: a rotten-egg smell can be gas, call your gas utility or emergency number first.
- It is general home advice, not legal advice about landlord duties.
